What is Passport Seva Project (PSP)?

The Passport Seva Project (PSP) is an initiative by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to make passport services easier, faster, and more citizen-friendly across India. It was launched in May 2010 to modernize the old, slow, and mostly manual passport process. Under this project, the entire system has been upgraded with digital technology so that people can apply online, get updates quickly, and receive services in a smoother way.

How to Apply Fresh Passport?

  1. First of all open the official TAFCOP portal https://tafcop.sancharsaathi.gov.in/ in your device.
  2. Now on the homepage, enter your mobile number, which is linked with your Aadhaar.
  3. Know Mobile Connections in Your Name
  4. Enter the captcha displayed on the screen and click on the "Validate Captcha" button.
  5. Enter the OTP received on your mobile and click Login button.
  6. After login, you will see a list of all the active mobile numbers linked to your Aadhaar, in which you have to check each number carefully.

Required Documents

  1. Tick the checkbox next to any number you do not recognize from the list.
  2. Know Mobile Connections in Your Name
  3. Select the option for that number: Not My Number (if the number is not yours) or Not Required (if the number is unused).
  4. Fill in the reason for the report or additional information if required.
  5. Submit your complaint by pressing the Report button.
  6. Click OK in the confirmation pop-up, and your case will be forwarded to the concerned service provider, and the number will be blocked after some time.

Track Your Passport Application

If you want to block your lost/stolen mobile phone through Sanchar Saathi portal, please follow the following steps:

  1. In case of lost/stolen of a mobile phone, first of all, go to your nearest Police Station (with mobile IMEI number) and file a report of the mobile phone lost or stolen.
  2. After the report is registered, you must obtain the police complaint number from the police station.
  3. After this process, you have to open the https://ceir.sancharsaathi.gov.in/ portal on any other device.
  4. Now you have to click on the "Block Stolen/Lost Mobile" button visible in the menu section.
  5. On clicking, a new page will open in front of you, in which you will have to enter information related to your mobile and yourself.
  6. Device Information Section
  7. Device Information: In this section, you have to enter mobile related information like Mobile Numbers, Device IMEI Numbers, Device Brand, Device Model, Device Invoice and Mobile Price etc.
  8. Lost Information Section
  9. Lost Information: In this section, you have to enter information related to mobile lost/stolen like Lost Place, Lost Date, State, District, Nearest Police Station, Police Complaint Number and Upload Police Complaint etc.
  10. Mobile Owner Personal Information Section
  11. Mobile Owner Personal Information: In this section, you have to fill information about yourself like Device Owner Name, Address, ID Proof, Email ID, Captcha and Mobile Number for OTP etc.
  12. Filling all the details carefully, you need to tick the declaration form and click on the "Proceed" button.
  13. After the form is successfully submitted, a Request ID will be generated, with the help of which you can check the status of your Application.
